CAREER

You, the employee:

As a Taurus employee, you are always an outstanding worker, and one of your most endearing qualities is your willingness to take orders without resentment. Your respect for authority is based on your knowledge that when you become an executive, you will expect your employees to follow your directions. As a boss yourself, you'll have definite and probably rigidly set ideas and methods.

You have a sort of Machiavellian detachment for those who think they're manipulating you, and you'll handle them with smooth tact and diplomacy. In the end, you will have your own way. If you are a woman employee, you are usually a real jewel. If you're a typical Taurus, you'll have a quiet, low-pitched voice and soothing manner.

After you have found the right meadow, where the opportunities grow plentifully, you seldom seek change or new fields to conquer. You are incredibly capable of persevering until the reward comes, but only when you are at the centre of things, never when you are insecurely chewing around the edges and hoping for a break. Once you feel the necessary sense of achievement and security beneath you, and once you have planted yourself in a position where you can build even higher, you move forward with confidence.

You, the boss:

As a Taurean boss, you are a thoroughly practical soul. Although you need to feel that your business allows you to express the beauty in your nature creatively, you need even more to succeed materially. You are never satisfied to run a small business. You want to build it into a possible empire. As a Taurus boss, you won't be content without some expansion, however minor. There will be no dramatic, sweeping changes, and progress will proceed one step at a time. You'll build gradually, without flash or fanfare, but you'll build. You stick to anything you start and finish what you begin, and you'll expect your employees to do the same thing. You want your facts plain, not fancy. Granted, sometimes you're wrong for refusing to listen to progressive ideas. But in the long haul, when the final score is tallied, you'll come out ahead.

You'll always try quiet common sense as your key phrase. But that doesn't mean you're lacking in imagination or appreciation of the finer things in life. Fancy names and titles don't impress you as much as they make you uneasy. You may take flak for your bull-headed attitude, but you are also stubborn in standing up for people who are loyal to you. You're really quite gentle if the red flag of defiance isn't waved in your face too often. You're strong and dependable. You say what you mean and you mean what you say. You won't need an interpreter.

You, the colleague:

You are accommodating, and that is half the battle won. You are also fiercely committed, and that means there is always a shoulder to cry on, when someone needs it. There are a few rough patches, mind you. We are dealing with stubbornness here. You refuse to see eye to eye on certain matters. Remember, it does pay to give in sometimes.

Careers and you:

You are reliable and loyal, easy to get along with and a good team player. You are also practical and grounded, as befits an Earth Sign. You are the Mr-Fix-It of the zodiac. You can be a bit lazy to get going, but once you are up and running, look out! There's a focus and single-mindedness of purpose there that can come in very handy. You can be strong-willed, so it's a good idea for colleagues to lay down the law first -- you will follow their lead and work hard. While you can do well in business, an artistic streak is also present. More apparent, though, can be your frequent stubborn streaks, which can defeat a lot of hard work. And that temper! It's mercifully swift. If you can keep your focus on the steady accumulation of material goods and an occasional dose of earthy, sensual pleasures, life will be grand.
