CAREER
You, the employee:
You are the quintessential, hardworking Cancer employee. Your boss will firmly hold on to you, because you will actually work for him. You never think of your job as a means to express your ego or an amusing way to pass time. You work for the simplest reason in the world - security.
As time goes on, and you prove your ability, you will expect a raise. Your income must always equal your output, which will steadily increase. You accept discipline from the boss with calm docility while it's necessary, but never forget what's behind your willingness to follow orders gracefully. You also need oodles of affection. Appreciation is soothing to you, but it never completely replaces your sentimental attachment to your bank balance.
It's best to let you make the jokes. With your kind heart and your sharp perception, it's unlikely that you'll annoy anyone with your comedy. You can be an utterly fascinating conversationalist, unless you're in a gloomy mood, in which case one word an hour, snapped out briefly, will be about par. You are a tender and sympathetic shoulder to cry on, and no one can be crankier when they suspect someone is trying to take something from them. You do well in any position that lets you use your natural abilities.
You, the boss:
As a serious, hard-working Cancer executive, you don't go for hilarity on the job. Your working humour can consist of anything from laughing at an over-confident competitor falling on his face to a faint chuckle when an employee asks for a raise. Nothing else will arouse much mirth or many giggles. The humour is still there, beneath your crisp business face and your snow-white collar, but it will be used sparingly on the job. You are in business for one purpose only. To make money.
You have a memory like an elephant. You may have inherited wealth and position, but you will seldom rest on your family's laurels. You have to prove you can stack up the gold pieces on your own. Still, you're not greedy. You're truly sympathetic and charitable, without being naïve about it.
Happiness to you means money and affection in equal measure. You are also a mind reader, and have a unique insight into people's feelings. You understand everything people say with uncanny accuracy, and the unnerving part is that you're also perceptive enough to sense the meaning of words unspoken. You are not really a loner. You may act like it at times, when you're passing through a cranky or depressed mood, but you usually like to be surrounded by people. You drive a hard bargain, but you're fair while being shrewd. You're a kind and decent person, moved to pity by cruelty and misfortune. Courtesy and compassion are part of your gentleman's code.
You, the colleague:
You are a dream colleague. You love to work in silence, which makes people think that you are not much of an achiever. But you prove them wrong eventually. You are very sensitive, and this tends to get on people’s nerves. But don’t take this too seriously. It will not affect your need to make a difference!
Careers and you:
You could be mistaken for an underachiever, but you work in a subtle, low-key manner. You like to lead, and are generally successful. You can create a space of harmony and happiness for all. This empathetic and intuitive quality also makes you a natural nurturer. You are very creative and possess qualities that can lead to bliss in the workplace, if properly merged. Think of an art therapist or family counseller, that is your talk. But a word of caution; people shouldn't make the mistake of rubbing you the wrong way. They will pay a heavy price!
